New Job Going Well
So it has been a month and I have learned a ton. The contract I am mostly uses JSP which I had learned for maybe 2 days at school. It is an entire J2EE integrated project, that is pretty intensive, and uses as many technologies as I think J2EE entails so its required a large learning curve, however I feel I am fulfilling that curve quite well.
Though I have not been assigned any major tasks as of yet I have been supporting some current tasks and learned a ton to feel extremely comfortable once I do have my own little project in this very large contract.
One month down, plenty to go.

Just Bought a NEW 2009 Nissan Altima
Thats right, a new car! We needed a new car to move Ryan around safely as our 2000’s just were not making us feel that comfortable (especially mine if any of you ridden with me in the past couple months). So we went car shopping and got a pretty good deal.
The experience was horrible, which sucks because it killed it for my wife, however I expected the worst and because of that, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. My parents had helped slightly, however for the most part I did all the wheeling and dealing. They were disapointed in how messed up the deal got, and how they screwed up, got a car from a different lot over night, was the wrong car, couldn’t get the right colors blah blah blah. Ended up getting a sweet navy blue 2.5S Altima that we are extremley happy with.
Those CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) engines are sweet, and won us over as we were deciding between an Altima and a Mazda6 (both nice cars). It is awesome though. Keyless entry is heaven when trying to get Ryan in the car, and if you hold the unlock button on the keyfob, the windows roll down (thanks Brandon!). Thats right, we are high class. I will put up pictures soon once I stop driving it and take some pictures.

Got a career job!
So after all the hard work of applying through the million online forms, I got an interview from one of the few that simply wanted a resume via email. The company is CSSS.NET (C-triple S . net). They are contractors for the Department of Defense and looks to be a great job, especially for my first career job out of school.
I will actually be working on base out of the AFWA (Air Force Weather Agency) building, brand new building, and will have a CAC (Contractor Access Card) and everything. I am pretty excited!

Moved to Papillion =s
My family and I have moved to Papillion so Amanda could go back to school, and I could look for a new job. Amanda starts Metro again in August to become a nurse, and once we takes all the courses she can she will be going to Clarkson!
I will be starting the job search, looking for any software development that I can find that does not involve just three people =)
I am hoping to gain a lot more experience and knowledge from this job so that I can get the 3+ years of experience under the belt, and have all the tools to start creating something, well something that I can describe as ‘awesome.’

Ryan Anthony is Born
On April 5th of 2009 my son was born! He was 36 weeks, 4 weeks early, however came out perfect and quick! They tested him to be 39 weeks so he is in good shape.
He is awesome, has all 10 fingers all 10 toes, and has been a dream all day, only crying for the first 20 seconds and been relaxing ever since.
He was 5lb 12ounces and 19 inches long. Amanda is okay and he is healthy as can be. Photos to come soon so check back!

Graduate School Offer
It has been some time, but I wanted to make a note of this before I forget. I was offered to continue through to graduate school here at UNL with pre admissions. I would not have to take the regularly required GRE test due to my superb gpa.
They also offered quite the amount of scholarship as well, however I am content with the amount of schooling I have received and am ready to move on in my life. I have no intention on taking this offer however it gives me great pride to know I earned the opportunity.
Happy New Years!
