So my father has asked me a couple times how to easily put pictures online without paying a bunch of money, and just really easily. Well after recreating my (this) website, I myself have become a user of Picassa Web Albums. I have integrated into my site in my Pictures page and it works phenomonally.

So I have recently started using picasa web galleries to post many images of Ryan for family, as they cannot get enough photos! Picasa turned out to be pretty sweet in general, recommended to replace general image viewer, and general image touch up software, it works extremely well for the features it has. Simply put all the features it has, its much more convenient for even myself to do in Picasa, and sometimes works better, than opening up Photoshop and doing them in there (which I have a profound knowledge of).

All that being said, I have found this cool plugin called Shashin, to allow for cool picture galleries which are called for the Picasa Web Galleries, and I can customize these to a certain point. There are some glitches, and updates I needed to make, mostly do to the fact my site is entirely ajax now, however I have it all up and running and is pretty smooth. Check out some examples below.

So it has been a month and I have learned a ton. The contract I am mostly uses JSP which I had learned for maybe 2 days at school. It is an entire J2EE integrated project, that is pretty intensive, and uses as many technologies as I think J2EE entails so its required a large learning curve, however I feel I am fulfilling that curve quite well.

Though I have not been assigned any major tasks as of yet I have been supporting some current tasks and learned a ton to feel extremely comfortable once I do have my own little project in this very large contract.

One month down, plenty to go.
