Web Development Blog

Okay, I got the blog up sooner than I thought: webdevelopment.nicholastuck.com

I found a theme, made some minor adjustments, got the plugins I wanted, and wrote my first article. Not the most elegant article, but it is one of my major projects at my current job and thought it be a valid enough place to start.

Feel free to check it out and give me your feedback. We will see if I stick to it or not.

Been a while…

It has been a long time since I have made any updates to this site that has not just been pictures. I have been very busy. Fortunatley my family has taken part in that busyness, though not as much as everyone would like. I have updated a little bit of the content so that people don’t get the wrong impression and will be adding my resume soon.

I am considering setting up a web dev blog for me to rant, post helpful scripts, and idealize how the future of the cloud should be. But that is time I don’t feel like I have right now. We will see though. Let me know if you think I should!?

Sandbox

One of the bigger solo project I have done for web development was called the Sandbox. It is a fully functional content management system that allows clients to login to their website and update written content, add new content, add pictures to their photo galleries, change descriptions for those pictures, update personal calendars and is expanding every day.

This site NicholasTuck.com use to be fully integrated through the sandbox. Home, About Me, Portfolio, Calendar were all updated and added to by the sandbox. Even though I have the capabilities to update the webpage, it is much easier just to login with my user name and password, click on what page I want to edit, and add any content I desire.

I helped setup and design all parts of sites that are sandbox integrated and I have listed some of those sites here as well, though I may or may not have helped design the website in it’s entirty I did play a major role in the integration through my Sandbox system. I made this system completly from scratch and completly on my own, though ideas bounced around the Brad’s Web Design team, I implimented everything single handedly and take much pride in this project.

There are some web design companies that do offer a system simliar to the Sandbox but are very complicated many times, and the client has to take lessons, usually through online videos, to understand how to use the system. The Sandbox is simple to use for anyone of any age, and we can show you in person exactly how to use it if you would like.

Just added all new house photos. We are about 90% setup how we want. We have majority of everything unpacked, just a matter of getting all the decorations we plan on getting and some minor things needed around the house.

Ryan’s first Visit to Zoo

We took Ryan on his first visit to the zoo a couple weeks ago! And we got rear ended on the way there… Ugh. Don’t worry, everyone is okay! It spooked all three of us, but Ryan was fine, and Amanda had a little bump.

The person that hit us was arrested onsite for missing court, and other contraband was found in her car. We had some bumper damage, but otherwise we were fine. Look at the new Escape in action!

We still went to the zoo and had fun. Ryan made it most of the time, and he loved the PENGUINS!!! We should have gone back but he passed out there toward the end. And Amanda ran over some big old peacock poo with the stroller, idiot!

New Christmas pictures are out! Eventually we will get the Christmas morning video out there, just been busy!

Christmas was crazy. Crazy snow all night caused our apartment complex to have everyone snowed in and out for that. Just our apartment complex. Christmas was at our apartment this year for Ryan’s first christmas. All Family got almost here, and after getting stuck multiple times, they parked a couple blocks away and carried the presents through the snow. My family was troopers and I am proud of them to tough it out, thanks for everyones effort!
